Rabbi Award

Each year, the National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) pays tribute to someone who exemplifies the best practices of chaplaincy. We are thrilled to be able to tell you that this year; NAJC will be awarding a Keter Shem Tov award to Rabbi Sol Agin. Sol exemplifies in his life the meaning of the award: Crown of a Good Name.

Rabbi Agin has been an active member of NAJC from its inception, and he now serves as Membership Chair. Sol has been a passionate voice combining professional standards with compassionate care to all. He has spent countless hours checking credentials, reviewing applications, curricula and transcripts and talking to membership candidates. He has been a consistent voice advocating high professional standards for chaplains and chaplaincy. Rabbi Agin has been a warm, caring and responsive voice welcoming new chaplains into NAJC as well as representing the best of professional chaplaincy to the outside world.

Sol's own personal and professional commitment is unwavering and long-standing; Sol was the sixth Jewish chaplain to earn professional certification in 1995 and has been an exemplar chaplain since that time. Rabbi Agin is currently the consulting Jewish Chaplain to Tidewell Hospice of Sarasota and Charlotte Counties in Florida. He is President and Chairman of the Board of 21st Century C.A.R.E. He is the Interfaith Community Liaison for Dignity Memorial Chapels.

We hope you will take this opportunity to pay tribute to Rabbi Agin (Sol) as he receives his Crown of a Good Name - Keter Shem Tov Award.

Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation

We are excited to announce that 21st Century C.A.R.E. has received a Promise Circle Grant from the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation. Jeff Gordon, a NASCAR champion seeks to help children gain their own victories over pediatric cancer as well as supporting the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital in Concord, NC through the work of The Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation. The funds we have received will be used exclusively for pediatric cancer patients and the incidental expenses related to cancer treatment. Part of our mission is to put focus where it belongs – on beating the disease. If you have a child or know of a child with cancer that could use our help, please go to our website and download an application to apply. Thanks Jeff for your commitment to pediatric cancer!
